Prior to WW2 I lived close to Hanworth Air Park which started my interest in aircraft. I recall my father buying and building some ‘solid’ kits for me. My modelling interest wavered a lot during 28 years in the RAF and it wasn’t until I retired that I became I regular modeller. My principal interest is British aircraft from WW1 to the present day in 1/72nd scale. Although owning an airbrush I much prefer brush painting despite Ian Garnett’s efforts to keep my airbrush fit for purpose! I especially enjoy vac-forms and scratch builds.
